I think Love (yes, capitalized J ) is sometimes an underlying type of thing. Like Love is always there, “always hoping, always persevering”, etc. and it never really goes away. Ever. It doesn’t even diminish. But I think a characteristic of Love is that we, being flawed humans, don’t see it from the right perspective. You know… when people question God’s Love because he lets innocent people die, when people let their soulmate slip away for something less, things like that. But God has that awesome eyesight that sees it all, so he really knows. Anyways, my point is, I think we see Love in a flawed manner, but Love, in retrospect, can be seen as true. For the most part. Obviously when someone is blinded by something as strong as hate or jealousy, etc. their vision of Love will be blurred, maybe even totally blacked out. But when we look back on all those crazy times, the fights, the pain, we realize that Love was there all along, that it never subsided or abandoned us…in fact, Love was more loyal and true than we probably were during those times. Could you imagine Love as a person? like the embodiment of Love? He or she would be patient, kind, accepting, humble, humble again, respectful, selfless, calm, forgetful of wrongs, truthful, protectful, trusting, hopeful, persevering, and all that stuff from 1 Cor. 13 Awesome person, right? I know you’re probably already thinking of this, but that person is Jesus! He told us so…(John 1:1?) I don’t mean to sound preachy or anything, but I think it’s pretty awesome that he IS Love.
